I was reading some magazine article, which called the Twins in Reloaded "Cain and Abel" instead of "Castor and Pollox". I found this interesting, as I have no idea which is the right one.
I also found that, in Soul Calibur 2's Weapon Master mode, one of the areas travelled to is called "Castor", and when you finish it, you unlock "Pollux" (Yes, spelled with a U).
Who knows what to make of this.

Ploous is the correct spelling of the name.
That has to be the best typo I have made in a while. Not only is it horribly wrong, it is in a place where I'm talking about how to spell a word correctly. "Pollux" is the actual spelling. Disregard that earlier one.
Castor does bring up some interesting points in this regard, though. For the sake of political correctness, let's say that the apparent misspelling of words he uses could conceivably be intentional. Whether we use the words (and spellings of these words) in the same manner or not crosses the same issue as the debated mispronunciation of the term "anime". The term has been taken from its original place (Animation from English speaking communities, Castor and Pollux from myth) and placed into a new area (Hostboard, Japanese television), and I think we have decided that the bastardised versions of these terms is the most acceptable one for use here. After all, we're not talking about the Dios Kuroi from the actual myth here. "Castor and Pollox" could very well be just another set of twins that (coincidentally) share very similar names to the "Castor and Pollux" of legend.
Whatever the case, though, Chris Wesely is stupid. Chris has chosen to ignore both the traditional pronunciation of the word anime and the semi traditional pronunciation favoured by our Oriental brethren in favour of a new way that doesn't really belong anywhere.
The original spelling of the name is "Polydeuces". This is the Greek version of the same character, the spelling of which was later changed (under Roman mythology) to Pollux. Perhaps the Romans were lazier than Greeks. Either way, the Roman Empire took over most of Europe, and since we're all pretty much descended from them, 'Pollux' is the spelling that we've learned.
They are also the twins that appear in the constellation Gemini.
The twins in Reloaded were awesome. Easily some of the best characters from any of the movies. Why were they not in Revolutions? Because it sucked. And also possibly vice versa. To my knowledge, they weren't named in the movie.
Though neith 'Castor and Pollux' or 'Cain and Abel' really suit those twins. Firstly, neither of these wore trenchcoats. But more importantly, neither of the twins died in the movie.
In the legend of Castor and Pollux, Castor dies. Pollux goes to the underworld to retrieve him, and eventually they are allowed to live on alternate days, so Castor lives tuesday and Pollux is dead, then on wednesday Castor dies and Pollux lives again. I don't really see the point in all this, I don't understand heroes. Personally, if my own brother died, I wouldn't give up my tuesday so that he could plsy on the computer. I guess when your brother has no life, it doesn't seem such a big loss when he loses it. Maybe I'm just being cold.
In the Cain and Abel story, Cain kills Abel because he was evil and angry, and something about God, and that's as much as I know. But the twins from the Matrix probably wouldn't kill each other. so again, I think this is a poor reference.
However, in the car chase bit one twin has something bad happen to him, (I forget what exactly, probably because I wasn't paying attention), and he falls back and materializes in the car being driven by the other twin. Anyway, I think that this could be taken to be one twin saving the other, so 'Castor and Pollux' seems a better likeness than the other.
Just my thoughts. I'm pretty certain that nowhere in the legends of the Dioskuroi was there any mention of Super Saiyan 2, but I can't read ancient Greek, so perhaps I missed it. I'd like to see a vase painting of that one.
